Distribution Equipment Installation

The existing main distribution equipment at Ivybridge House had reached the end of its life cycle, while the pre-existing UKPN main incoming supply was inadequate for the building’s growing development and occupancy. TNS Contractors successfully executed a comprehensive overhaul of the main incoming distribution equipment, with UKPN installing a new 630A main incoming supply.

To ensure minimal disruption to the building occupants and their businesses, a phased approach was implemented. The new distribution equipment was installed before disconnecting and relocating the existing sub mains, resulting in 0% disruption to operations.

Works comprised of:

• Coordinating and organising other contractors, particularly UKPN
• Working outside of normal working hours and days
• Installation of small power and emergency lighting
• Deployment of galvanised containment such as ladder racks and conduits
• Implementation of a 630A FP600 supply
• Migration and replacement of existing SWA sub-mains
• Testing, commissioning, and certification.
