Acton Central Accessibility & Calm Room Scheme

TNS Contractors were appointed to deliver the full mechanical and electrical package as part of a heritage-led refurbishment at Acton Station, undertaken in collaboration with TPSS (Total Property Support Services). The project transformed disused and deteriorated platform accommodation into modern, accessible passenger facilities, whilst carefully preserving the station’s historic railway character.

The works included the creation of fully accessible public toilet and baby changing facilities, together with the refurbishment of an unused storeroom into a welcoming heritage-style waiting room designed to enhance the passenger experience within the live station environment.

Scope of Works:

  • Full M&E installation including small power, lighting, DDA alarm systems, hot and cold water services, and new sanitaryware
  • Electrical and mechanical infrastructure to support refurbished passenger facilities
  • Installation and commissioning of accessible public toilet and baby changing facilities
  • M&E services associated with the conversion of an existing storeroom into a heritage-inspired waiting room
  • Coordination and delivery of works within a live operational heritage station environment
